Did you know there is a Pilgrimage that starts in Tavira and goes through VRSA and up the center of Portugal eventually getting to Santiago Spain. Santiago Spain has a cathedral with the relics of Saint James and is a popular pilgrimage site.

I couldn’t get the link to work but I have managed a bit of Googling. Interesting, sounds like it still isn’t very signposted on the first leg up to Alcoutim? Have you explored any of it yet yourself?
