Hi everyone, I’m considering moving to the Algarve sometime in the next year or so. I’m a single woman so am looking for a safe town to put down roots. I’m looking for a place that has plenty of life but not overcrowded with tourists. I would appreciate any suggestions or experiences.
I will be visiting in late June and staying in Porches.

Linda, do your own research. I did and concluded Lagos was the best choice i.e. about 30-40,000 people,l on the banks of the longest beach in Portugal and with many other shorter cliff-surrounded beaches, and not too many tourists. Property is expensive though. Another advantage would be it's the end of the train line (so if you fall asleep - so what!)

Good and not crowded of tourists you can try Silves, S. Bartolomeu de Messines, Porches, Estombar, or Alcantarilha.You are welcome about any help or info you need about.From all these places you can have faster acess for shopping and seaside places.
