Can anyone help with this problem?

I have a contract with NOS which runs until September 2024 (renewed in 2022). Sometime in or around September 2022 I continually received calls from MEO. Each call I politely explained that I had a 2 year contract with NOS and each time the caller would state that they would make a note of this. The calls from MEO became so frequent that I had to call on the help of my Portuguese neighbour who told them very politely but forcefully to stop calling as my contract could not be changed and MEO were simply harassing me. I think this was sometime in March this year.

A few days ago, late July, the calls from MEO have started again. My last conversation with the MEO agent, called Elias (if I heard him right) was very polite but he seemed to imply that this was my problem and not MEO's as they had every right to call any number they held on their database.

Any helpful suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

I contacted someone at a MEO shop and complained about a call, they used a number of the bloke who had helped me when I was getting fixed up with broadband, so not even me. They raised a complaint of some sort and it was okay after that but I was actually a MEO customer. But if you have a MEO shop near you, you could go in and explain you want to complain and your number to be removed from the database. It must be very annoying for you!

EU GDPR rules should mean that if you write to them requesting them to remove your details, legally they have to delete them. Or go into a MEO shop?

They will not stop and you will end up explaining everytime.........they are relentless........I would suggest either putting the phone down and ignoring them..................or say you will use the complaints book Livres Amarello...............they even try to charge you when you change companies, even though you have paid up to date, and then send your details to INTRUM which is a complete scam. Dont waste anymore energy on them...........I changed from meo to nos when I moved house, and am paid up to date, but they still want money. Its a tele sales scam and if they get you they get paid a commission.......

Hi Chrisz and everyone,

I followed your conversation and would appreciate if you cab give me the contact number if your internet provider ( Not MEO). I will arrive to VRSA in December and it will be very helpful for me to prepare internet connexion before my arrival.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thank you

Michele

I honestly think it wont do any good to try before you get here......they need proof of address and all sorts of paperwork....ID passport Brexit card etc...look at the NOS website for a number....but it will all be in Portuguese........this is the nightmare of living in Portugal

Hi Michele,

Wait until you arrive and NOS is very easy to contact as there are adverts all over the place. I do not know if there are other providers, apart from MEO, as I am happy with NOS.

Chris.
