Property tax

Hi,
I have a small holiday apartment for personal use. I have in the past paid the local town tax via my solicitor. This year I have had to remind them to let me know how much it is, and although they are not very efficient, I find I am paying the solicitor almost as much as the actual tax. Is it possible to receive the bill myself and pay direct to the local council?
