Hi
As a pensioner I have just started to find all the climbing back up the hills to the hotels In Albufeira a bit challenging. I Know there is the free train and taxis available but was wondering are there any areas in the Algarve that are flatter with easier access to the beach.

Try, Lagos, Pete. Longest and best beach in the Algarve (Praia Maie) and no hills near it.

If you want to head east, Monte Gordo is perfect. Moved from Armacao de Pera to Monte Gordo a few months ago. Flat, boardwalk and beautiful beach, plus 4 kms to Spain. Still close to Tavira and Faro airport. Best of all worlds... Wish you the best!

Thank you Jazz I will have a look at that area. Any personal recommendations for Apts, Villas or hotels near beach and bars/ Restaurants would be great, and thanks for info.

Hi Pete, I live in Monte Gordo, its a lot flatter in the eastern Algarve, you should start from Vila Real de Santo Antonio and work your way west :)) Dave
