Hi All,

I am bringing my family to Albufeira and work in car rental. My colleagues have advised that Uber and other taxis are plentiful and as such not to worry about car hire. They said that parking at beaches in late July is busy too.

I would love to hear the thoughts of the local community about this and whether using taxis for the trip is the right direction for us.

thanks

Hugh

It depends on which city you live in. We lived for six months in Tavira and did not rent a car until the last month.  We used Ubers and both, but when it was particularly inclement weather, it was difficult to get an Uber. Sometimes they were busy and sometimes they canceled our ride. It was difficult to get to a doctors appointment on time. That’s when we rented a car. Try zest at the Faro Airport. They have good rates. If yoit was difficult to get an Uber. Sometimes they were busy and sometimes they canceled our ride. It was difficult to get to a doctors appointment on time. That’s when we rented a car. Try zest at the Faro Airport. They have good grades however if you try. U try to rent now during high season, it will be very high rates. Low season it was cheap.

We finally bought a used car.

Thank you for the heads up. We are only in Albufeira for 10 days in July. I work for Enterprise, Alamo and National car hire but the rates for a minivan which is what we need are high about £700-£1000 for the 10 days.

If Uber are around then i doubt i will spend that much on them.

thank you for your help.

Hugh
