Hi. Went in to the Meo shop in Loule. They speak English ok. From order to install was less than a week, but that was then. You could also look at Lazer Telecom as they go up to 1gbps if they cover your area; you can check online.

Thanks I think I will just go into my local shop then. I only have a few weeks to get it set it up so hope there aren’t long delays. At least if I do it through a shop I then can go in if there are problems. Doing it on the internet it feels like it would be harder to get help or questions answered.

Just a comment about Lazer telecom.

When I arrived, I had a hard deadline of 2 months go get Internet set up.

I contacted Lazer telecom, requesting to sign up. The area was covered.

For a few weeks, I tried to get them to install (promises, promises) it but in the end - they failed to show up on time (approx 6 weeks!)

I contacted Meo and they got me online within a week. It turned out to be significantly cheaper as well.

Might be also worth looking at Lazer Telecom if they are in your area. You will find their contact details online. Also they speak great english

I have used Vodaphone for 30 years without many problems and I had a special mast fitted to my property of which I get around a continuous 50Mbs directly wired and around 25Mbs wireless to the rest of my property their are five of us using the service continuously and it is unlimited, we do have to pay for this but we need the power so the cost is not the issue.

On two occasions this year after bad weather we lost the service for about 8 hours, luckily at night!

I hope this helps you and the best of luck, have a good weekend

We live near Carvoeiro and we have MEO internet installed and it is terrible, constant buffering. I have spoken to them at the shop in Portimao and on the phone to their technical dept but I am not getting anywhere.

Does anyone know of a better supplier?

We have had NOS for 7 years now and we have our router in our villa. We get a signal also in the downstairs part and our roof terrace.,We have not needed to use customer service. We get free terrestrial TV channels and a landline which is helpful for a Portuguese contact number with the package. We pay around £42 a month.
