Hello. We are moving to a house in Pedragosa, east of Loulé, this Friday. The current owners are cancelling their contract but we can't find out who it was with, so we need to find a provider. Any suggestions would be very welcome! Thank you.

We have recently bought a new contract with MEO based on super fibre broadband which so far been very reliable compared to our home in the UK.

However it really depends on the area you are in and the type of supply they are able to offer.

Hope this helps.

Hi Grego

Many thanks for your reply, it's very helpful. We have heard that MEO's customer service is shocking so we are going to see Vodafone in Loulé tomorrow to see what they can offer. I'll post my thoughts for anyone else that's following this thread. Thanks again. John

Didn't realise they were so bad but so far not needed to use their customer service.

Their connection at our house has been good during the period of August whilst we were there so no grumbles!

Good look with the investigations and let us know what you find.

Cheers Greg

Hi

We recently moved into a house on the outskirts of Loule. You are correct in your advice that MEO customer service is shocking. We persevered nagging them and after 5 weeks (which was quick apparently by their standards) we got fiber optic installed. I can’t praise it enough now. It’s so fast. Watching TV with no buffering at all. The product is outstanding in comparison to the UK Internet we had. Our house is on 3 floors too and we have good internet all over.

Yes once the MEO fibre installation has been made the service is great and as you say better than the UK suppliers.

No issues of it lagging, great for TV screening and we even had the TV package thrown into the contract. I'm paying 29.99 euros a month for 200 mbps download speed.

We did have a missed installation date but after some complaining had it resolved very quickly.

Hi. Thanks for the responses. We went to Vodafone, but they could only offer mobile-based internet of 100gbs per month. So - we went to MEO on Thursday, the rep was very helpful and signed us up for €34.99/mth for 100mbps, landline and TV. No email confirming so went back on Monday, told installation was the next morning - which it was! Two very competent engineers put in the fibre-optic cable and within 2 hours job done. Very fast. Very happy (so far).

Hi can I ask with people who installed with MEO, did you apply for it online or go into a MEO shop to order the broadband? I am still in the UK and needing to work out whether I can do it from here and get someone to be at my house for installation or whether I need to be over there.
A lot depends on how long it takes from ordering to installation as I can only come over for a couple of weeks.

Hi. Went in to the Meo shop in Loule. They speak English ok. From order to install was less than a week, but that was then. You could also look at Lazer Telecom as they go up to 1gbps if they cover your area; you can check online.
