Intermarché near VRSA train station had TVs for sale last time I looked (about a month ago). Lidl and Aldi do high spec low cost TVs once or twice a year. 

If you don't mind looking further afield, try Worten in the big shopping centre as you enter Tavira. There is likely to be a better selection.

All the big store chains have websites which you can check out before you head off. You should check your requirements before you buy as it is unlikely the sales assistant in a supermarket would know any more about the TV other than what is written on the box.
