We are considering a move to VRDSA from Madeira Island this next year.  I am fine now, but was hospitalized for a heart attack this last year. I am wondering about the clinic there. ( We have private health insurance thru HPA SAUDE) Do they handle emergencies and any cardiac care ? Any information you can share would be so appreciated.  Many thanks,  Mahna

Hi Mahna

As far as I know emergencies are dealt with at the local clinic in VRSA initially. If further treatment is required you will be sent to Faro public hospital for assessment. It would be wise to check with your private health insurance what exactly is covered. I watched a very informative video on YouTube recently which gave a very good run down on the Portuguese health system. Check out Expats Everywhere on YouTube. Best of luck with your move. Vila Real is a lovely town.

Hi every one,

I will be moving to VRSA in December, 30th, Is any one of your contacts has a T1 or T2 for rent starting, December, 30th ?  It is for one person, myself. The lease could be for 6 months, 8 or 12 months.

Thanks in advance to any one that could help !

Michele
