People often leave unwanted clothing, electrical items, furniture etc conspicuously beside the bins around town.  

Clothing should be put into cardboard boxes and placed high enough so dogs don't urinate on them.   The green boxes that Lidl sell fruit in are perfect for the purpose. 

If you have transport, if you wish, you can take clean items of clothing to charity shops in nearby places like Cabanas or Tavira. They won't accept items that are unsuitable for Portuguese weather or which are in unwearable condition due to dirt or damage.

You can feel assured that people who search through your cartons of clothing will benefit from your thoughtfulness.

I have also seen the Red Cross VRSA collecting stuff in their van.
