Hi we will be staying in Vila Real in Mid March close to the Burger Shack and was wondering about parking We were in Vilamoura in October where we have visited at least 8 times and whilst there we like to see all the different areas Whilst having a day out we went to Vila Real and I found it to a very busy area but beautiful at the same time It was market day and It was best market I've ever been to and the people were lovely Anyway I diverge!! We will be hiring a car as normally do and will be staying as I said in a private apartment near Burger Shack which we easily found As I had booked an apartment we wanted to go see the area I noticed the parking meters were off as normally are when there anytime in March or October

I was wondering about parking as a very busy place We are that bit older and would really need to stop at apartment and drop of cases then see where we could park and perhaps use car on a daily basis Have you any advice on that subject We so looking forward to being there as love Tavira and Monte Gordo side of Portugal but the parking issue is a bit worrying Can you help put my mind at ease Will be staying for 11 nights mid March

Any help would be most welcome

Thanks Winnie

Marga

Hi Winnie

Parking in the centre can certainly be a problem.  We are retirees and my hubby usually drops me off with the cases and then parks in the Continente Supermarket or the old cinema area near the river where there are lots of free parking spaces. Hope this helps!

Hi

I arrived in VRSA yesterday evening, with a hire car from Faro. Granted, it is February, but there appears to be an abundance of free on-street parking, and the car park outside Lidl even had a couple of large motorhomes in it.

hope this helps

Andrew

Thank You Andrew for answering my post I have been worrying about parking as when there for a day in October It was so busy There was a market on right enough so maybe that could account for so many cars

You have put my mind at ease so I can stop worrying now

I hope you enjoy your time there Weather doesn,t seem to be too bad going by Google weather and Although I was only there for the day it felt just right

We usually stay in Vilamoura but I love Tavira so will be nearer now to pop along to and also being so close to Spain can pop over there for the day

Thanks Again

Thank you for taking the time to send the map That will be very useful and I am sure we can find it with street plan

I am so looking forward to our holiday as just love everything about Portugal and the people and culture

 Many Thanks
