TAXI SCAM AT FARO AIRPORT

Good morning,

I want to alert you to a taxi scam at the airport, you may be aware of this already.

Passengers seeking to go to the Faro train station will be told by some taxi drivers that there is a train strike and if they are tired, arriving late, possibly with kids etc. they will be tempted to take up the driver's offer to go to Lagos etc. by taxi.

There are strikes from time to time as well as maintenance work on the railways but people should always check the CP railway site beforehand.

Twice this scam has been perpetrated on people known to me and they took the taxi at a cost of some Euro 90.

Last night I arrived at Faro airport and shared a taxi to the station. I was going to VRSA and the other person was going to Lagos. We were told that no trains were running due to a strike. There was no strike and both of us took the train to our destinations.

Can you please publicise this.
