Hi
My wife and I are returning to Alvor in September,just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere fairly local to Alvor(we will have hire car) where we could buy foldable beach beds.
Going to the beach everyday for 2 weeks and hiring the beds on the beach can work out expensive,just trying to find a way of doing it a bit cheaper.

Hi Gary, Portimao may be your best bet but they still have some stock outdoors in our local Continente, it’s a bit random where to find them at this time of year. Certainly supermarkets have them in the summer in areas like yours,
If you go onto the website for somewhere like LeroyMerlin, they have them and there is a store near Portimao.

Hi Aspidistra thanks for the reply.When we arrived there were sun bed cushions in the apartment,so we used these and bought a parasol from a local shop for €10.00 ,never hired sun beds,saving a fair amount,

How much do sun beds cost to hire? Never done it as not a beach sunbather. I think in Continente the cheapo white ones cost about €25.

On the beach at Alvor you get two sun beds and a parasol for €13.50 a day,if you hire one everyday for two weeks that’s €189.00,that’s a lot to add to you’re spending money.
